Cancun Day 4 - Tuesday 15 MAR 2016

Slept in a little bit today as well.  Headed for the pool at 10.  Our seat mates next to us were smokers so we relocated to the pool bar.

We ate lunch here at the hotel, sitting on the outside deck across from the pool bar.  We spent the rest of the day on the sun deck.  We alternated from pool to sun deck to beach to sun deck, etc.  Some of us spent more time in the water today than on the lounge chair.  I'll let you decide which one of us that was.  The other one?  She spent more time in the chair than in the pool, but she did get wet at least 3 times.

I took a photo of the beach.  Up until today there has been ZERO seaweed.  The hotel had to scrounge around to find enough to create their welcome sign.  Today there was some, but I still would consider it none, relatively speaking.

We came up to the room right at 3 today for showers.  We've taken in plenty of sun and are sure to have some peeling and dry skin to contend with.  It's 82 F and very warm.  Thank goodness for the breeze and clouds.  No rain to speak of at all so far this week.

I tried to book a cenote dive trip but they are full up.  The dive shop did suggest the reef and ship wreck tour that goes out daily.  We'll see.  Maybe I'll wait until the kids come down again and we can all go out together.  Kathy as the bobber and the rest of us as divers.  Grandma Sandy can watch Will because she ain't going SCUBA diving!

In the meantime we eat, drink, sleep, and generally be merry.  The couple next to us at lunch today was from Montana originally and now retired in Washington.  Old fella had the #3 and #9 state record mule deer heads that his dad had shot.  At one time, the #3 was #1 Boone and Crockett for Montana.  They spoke because they noticed my Ducks Unlimited shirt.

That's the third comment on my shirts.  Yesterday I was stopped by another Boy Scout because he recognized my Wood Badge shirt.  And then today, one of the workers here stopped me and said the bright orange Pheasants Forever shirt was awesome.  You know what, it might not be the shirts?  It might be me.  All my awesomeness is coming right through my clothes.  Thank goodness there is no charge for awesomeness....

Another thing we have noticed is the lack of people.  It's Spring Break and we are not seeing the crowds.  Maybe this place has fallen out of favor?  We rode a bus and had the ENTIRE thing to ourselves.  No one else.  Sandy still wouldn't do the Risky Business train scene regardless of the quantity of people.

Sandy also said that her definition and mine about the quantity of outfits purchased for little Mr. Will differ.  I thought 3 was gobs.  Grandma, not so much.

Dinner tonight was outside next door across street.  Xkat-Ik.  Great as always.  They have done some improvements to the area.  Food and service great.  Took a picture for Kathy.  Love You!

The beach.  First day of any seaweed what-so-ever.
That picture is for you, Andy.

The view from our lounge chair.  82 degrees of wonderfulness.

The flora around the hotel is in bloom.  Pretty picture.

From our 10th floor balcony looking N this afternoon.

That's corn chowder for Kathy!  You know why...
