Bahamas Day 5 - Wednesday June 13

We all slept in again until about ten, maybe 10:30.  We hung around the room until 11:45.  Then we drove to what we thought was Bernie's Tiki Hut, which had great reviews on Trip Advisor.  Well, we ended up at the Manta Ray Restaurant at the Manta Ray Village - which turned into a great win for us.  Good food and good setting.  We did walk the beach and find Bernie's afterwards.  They had just opened at 1, since they had a large bon fire last night for the locals / visitors.  Maybe on our next trip we can hit Bernie's.

We came back and changed to pool attire and slathered on the sunscreen.  Nick, Kathy, and Alex all had to become pool certified so that we can take a diving trip tomorrow.  Shelby and Sandy have agreed to not go - their choice.

We came back to the room and everyone took showers.  We hung out for a bit as the Island Fish Fry did not start until 6.  Nick & I beat Shelby & Kathy in cards for 1 game.  We headed out for the fish fry.

What we found out was that someone should have given us the NAME of the restaurant instead of just the location.  When we got there, we saw Fish Fry and parked.  Well, this was Penny's fish fry and NOT the island version.  How were we supposed to know?  We ate there anyway.  It was an adventure.  We had scorch conch as an appetizer.  Kathy had BBQ chicken.  Shelby had jerked pork.  The rest of us had the fish fry.  It was okay, but totally not what we expected.

This was our Fish Fry.  Not expected, but good local food!

When we left Penny's (which BTW is cash only), we drove on down to the beach and found the REAL Fish Fry at the Outrigger Beach Club.  Oh well, maybe try that on the next trip.

We did get some good photos of a rainbow because yes, it was raining again.

Tomorrow we go out in the afternoon on a dive.  Looking forward to that.  The instructor takes photos and posts them on FB for us to download or tag ourselves.  We should have some great dive photos to share later.

Called BIL Andy - he's in the hospital with stomach issues.  SIL Michelle has updated FB for those needing to know anything.  My guess is that the majority of you reading this already know since you are family.  Not sure anyone else out there is reading these words or not.  Does not matter to us, this serves as a history / photo album of our adventures in the Bahamas.
