Trip to Airport. Funny stories.

So the story I wrote on the plane would not upload. Lost it all. Trying again. Oh, and lost the pictures too. Damn WiFi.

We packed and left the hotel at 10:15. Got less than one hour of sun as it was overcast and spitting rain. Here are the last two hold outs.

We got into a Suburban taxi with a driver who spoke English like a native. We asked about the increased police presence. He said the Cancun Chief of Police is a retired Army General and Quintana Roo has a very good governor. So taxi driver claims it's both good and bad to have more police. Good because the it keeps the criminals away. Bad because he can't speed. Seems the CoP would rather send the criminals to Hell than to jail where they can bribe their way out. So, he orders them killed while trying to "escape." Seems to work. No problems in Cancun at all. Lots and lots of police patrols.

We get a bell hop at the airport to help with our luggage. We walk into a very crowded airport. But Frontier's line is about half full. The hop says it will take 1.5 - 2 hours to check in, but for $20 per person we can go to the front. So I give him $120 and our passports and he disappears. Sandy is pretty nervous but stays relatively calm for her. He returns in a few moments and we grab our bags and move to the front of the line. We upgrade to the exit row, but when I try to pay the name on my credit card says "Robert" but there's no ticket for Robert. Thanks Mom!

We leave for security and the Frontier line is now out the airport door. At this point, Kathy says she'd pay $50 to jump the line. We hit security and buzz right through with no waiting. So now we have plenty of time for a nice lunch at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.

From hotel through Security at airport, including the taxi ride is a total of 45 minutes. A new work record!

Took a bus to our plane and killed some time as the pilot was not ready. Easy three hour flight to Indy. No bumps to speak of.
