Wednesday Night Fights
Last night was competition night. We ate at the Italian buffet here at the hotel. And while it had a greater selection / variety of food, we all agreed that Cajun night was better. Sandy wrote the dissenting opinion.
We returned to the room to play Rage, Bid Euchre, and Pictionary Man. The teams were male v female.
The girls won the first round of euchre quite handily, by about 45 points in a game of 52.
Then we found out why the new card game is called Rage when Sandy, in an almost stunningly brilliant move gave Shelby 17 points in one hand, at a time when Shelby was already leading. Understand two things: 7 is a pretty good score in one hand of Rage, so 17 is unheard of; and no Seager likes to lose. Of course we all ganged up on Shelby while Sandy quietly took the lead. It came down to the very last card. If Nick chose what color card Sandy was holding, then Shelby won. If Nick did not pick the one color out of six Sandy held, then Sandy won. Nick chose wisely and let his girlfriend win by one point.
Then we split one game apiece in more euchre. And then the boys got throttled in Pictionary Man. We did however get some AWFUL clues. I had to draw Roger Ebert for Nick and Alex - who had never heard of him. Alex had to draw Ziggy Stardust - which we got Ziggy and star, but ran out of time before we got dust.
Of course the girls drew well, even when the had tough clues. Sandy drew Curious George - which promptly was guessed as Rafiki (the Lion King) and Abu (Aladdin). Eventually it was guessed correctly though. Sandy also had to draw "ovulating." I'll let you decide how you would draw that. But Sandy started with an egg in a frying pan and then went on to anatomy. Kathy said "Is that?" and Sandy said "yep." Kathy then said "dropping eggs like popcorn" which lead to the correct guess. We took a break because we were laughing too hard to continue.
We ended the evening by 10 with the girls as overall champions.
Sandy hit the pool before 7 and got chairs on the left side across from the pool bar. She said it was the last available. People are getting out earlier and earlier to reserve chairs.
Shelby got 11 hours sleep, which is a lot for her. She said "I was tired." All heading to the pool by 9:30.
Check in later tonight with a surprise.
