SB20 - Day 4 - TUES 17 MAR

Well, yet another productive day at being unproductive.  Slept in a bit today.  Rolled out at 10 and then hit the pool until 12:15.  Lunch.  Back to the sun deck.  I was in and out of the pool, ocean, and pool again.  Sandy did the pool once.  The wind kept it cool once you were wet.  Oh the drama of being in paradise.

Lunch was next door.  We ordered off the menu to try something different.  Sandy's steak sandwich was so tough that she couldn't even bite through it.  My Philly cheesesteak was awesome.

We got a message from the resort today.  It seems that some needed utility maintenance is going to shut down all power to the resort from 8 am - 3 pm tomorrow.  Guess we just turned Wednesday into a shopping day.  We have orders from a little guy back home about what we are to be bringing back.  That along with vanilla.  Belay that.  Asked at front desk - the power outage impacts the entire island of Cancun.  No power anywhere!  Bought us some snacks for lunch - guess we'll just sit by the pool ALL DAY.  No, don't throw me in the briar patch!

I finished my first book last night.  All Secure by Tom Satterly.  Tom grew up in Columbus, IN.  Went into Army and then Special Forces.  He called it The Unit, but I'm pretty sure it was Delta.  He was on the roof in Mogadishu when the Black Hawk went down.  He tells of how he was trained to be the best, but yet was not whole upon leaving - post traumatic stress.  Turns out Tom & his fourth wife chartered a foundation to help other vets integrate back into society.  Good read & even better cause.

Sandy hasn't started reading yet.  Just hasn't felt like it.  Been doing puzzle books instead.

Today is St. Patrick's Day as well as Sister Joan's birthday.  I can't recall exactly, is this her 60th?  All of the chips are dyed green down here as well as the staff being dressed up as leprechauns.  Green balloons and four-leaf clovers everywhere.  Sandy has green on, but I may pinch her on the butt anyways.  It won't go over well, but I'll take one for the team.

Dinner reservations are for Hacienda Sisal here at the resort tomorrow at 5:30 pm.  Even though it is part of our all-inclusive package, reservations are still required.  We planned it for tomorrow since the main restaurant will be serving Oriental dishes.  Tonight here was Italian or pasta night.  Pretty good food.

Back to the room and Sandy called her parents to check in.  Sounds like we are not missing much in Indiana.  We're sure not sad that we're missing all the COVID-19 BS.  Chin up, we're still in paradise!

In case you missed it, it's good to be us!

The sun setting over the lagoon this evening.

Sure is BLUE here.  Can't wait to get back to the snow on Saturday!
