Cancun - Wednesday, 25 OCT

Compared to the rain, today was a beautiful day in paradise!  At least weather-wise.  We got up at 7:30 and went to the buffet for breakfast.  Why so early?  We had an 8:30 appt with the “time share” people to discuss changes in the plan since The Royal Resorts were bought out by Holiday Inn.  And yes, of course they are going to try and sell us something.

They stated, in writing, that the “presentation” was going to be 75 minutes in length.  After 2.5 hours, we were all done.  The points have changed and the new system has some merit, however you have to buy-in to the new system.  Of course you do.  They want more money.  The problem now is that if you want to get payments interest free, then you have to put 50% down.  Not sure who has that kind of discretionary funds laying about, but it’s not me and probably not the people I run around with.  Oh well.  For our time, the girls got a $70 gift certificate at the spa and we got a $50 room credit.  Not a total loss.  However, they cannot serve alcohol during the presentations - for obvious reasons.  That was a long 2.5 hours without beer!

We got our sunscreen on and landed in our chairs.  It was getting warm.  We ate lunch at the pool hut.  Followed by naps, many dips in the water to get cooled off, and more naps.  The girls collected their pottery that had been glazed and fired last night.  They turned out well.  On our way to dinner, Sandy and I took some sunset pictures - below.  Dinner’s theme was Italian night and we returned to the room for cards.  Boys went up 3-1 before we called it a night.  Sandy is blowing her nose and having coughing fits.  Sucks to be ill, but at least she’s not feeling well here.  The blame has been placed at Hadley’s feet, right or wrong.

We made some semi-plans for tomorrow.  No breakfast.  Early lunch @ 11 so the girls can get their massages and pedicures.  Followed by an early dinner to avoid the crowd for the next show.  That’s about as much planning as we can handle.  Well that and Greg & I always plan to win cards… because that’s what winners do… win!

Tonight’s sunset.  Well played by God and Mother Nature!

Early afternoon, off the balcony.  Sandy is plain suffering, no?

Awesome weather and not a lot of people

Sunset from the far end of the resort.  Hot tub in foreground.
