Cancun 2022 - Day 9 - Sunday March 13

I got up this morning at 7:05 am - at least I thought it was.  Turns out our damn alarm clock in the room updated to DST.  It was actually 6:05, but I did not find this out until my bride came out at what I thought was 8:15.  I checked the internet.  It was 7:15 am.  The alarm clock changed, Sandy's phone changed, my laptop changed, and the microwave all changed times - and they should not have.  Cancun does not observe Daylight Savings Time.  Even though Indiana pushed all clocks ahead one hour, we did not.  You wanna know why?  Because the Sun doesn't care what time it is.  Time is a man-made construct to coordinate events.

All that behind us, it was cooler and overcast - and as it turns out - all day.  The high today may have made 75 F (24 C) but it was really windy.  It felt cold.  We stayed indoors.  Sandy did another puzzle and then started a book.  I played games on the computer and took a nap.  And due to the aforementioned time change, we did not turn on the TV until half-time of the Big Ten championship.  We watched the second half and were disappointed to watch Purdue lose to Iowa and earn only a 3rd seed in the tournament.  At least we can count on them to choke early.  Don't fill out your bracket with your heart.  Use your head.  Purdue will lose in the second round.  You read it here first.

We walked to that Char Hut for lunch on the pool deck, as usual.  Sandy wore a jacket (in honor of Kathy, I think).  However, she did have TWO alcoholic drinks during lunch!  We ate dinner at the Veranda restaurant and had the buffet.  Sandy had TWO more alcoholic drinks at dinner!  This is a new PR for her.  I think I may be rubbing off.

We took our last selfie tonight on the lanai.  Tomorrow we head for the airport at 11:20 am local.  We should be home sometime around 8:30 pm.  Direct flight with Frontier.  We've had a great week - relaxing, unplugging, enjoying the wonderful weather.  And we look forward to coming back in October!  Until then, this blog will be silent.  Hope you enjoyed reading about our lack of adventure here in paradise...

Do Sandy's eyes look bleary?  She may be drunk!
